Yongpyong Ski School uses an easy‑to‑understand level system,
from complete beginner through to confident intermediate and beyond.
Levels are based on what you can already do: terrain you are comfortable on, turns you can make and how you control speed and direction. “This helps us place you in the right class, match you with others at a similar stage and plan the next steps for your progression.”
A 10-level grading system is operated. Upon completion of Level 7 or higher, participants can obtain a Level 1 certificate (available from age 18).

Newbie and 1st Timer
“Level 1 – First Timer: First day on snow, learning to stand, slide, stop and use the magic carpet.”
“Level 2 – Beginner: Can slide and stop on gentle slopes; learning basic turns and starting to use beginner chairlifts.”
“Level 3 – Novice: Can link turns on green runs; working on speed control, rhythm and stronger posture.”
“Level 4+5 – Intermediate: Comfortable on most green and some blue runs; learning parallel turns and exploring more of the resort.”
“Level 6+ – Advanced / High Intermediate: Confident on blue and some red runs; focusing on carving, short turns or variable snow.”
“If you are unsure of your level, our staff will ask a few quick questions on arrival and recommend the best group or private option for you.”
